ML&C becomes Compugraphics Jena GmbH

Compugraphics International,  one of Europe’s leading and longest established producers of photomasks,  has announced that ML&C, which it acquired in January 2011, becomes Compugraphics Jena GmbH with effect from 1 December 2011.

ML&C Masken Lithographie und Consulting GmbH is a leading mask maker based in Germany.  ML&C (www.mlc-jena.de) is located in Jena which has a long-standing reputation as a global centre of excellence for optical technology.

Brian Young, general manager (UK), Compugraphics International said: “We are pleased to announce that ML&C becomes Compugraphics Jena in December.  The acquisition has been a major success for all parties and it has given us the ability to produce larger masks up to 16-in square.  We are being increasingly asked by our customers to produce larger photomasks for applications such as wafer level packaging and a number of other semiconductor and optical uses.”

He added: “ML&C shares the same passion for quality, excellence and precision that we have at Compugraphics.  Since being established in 1992 ML&C has won a reputation as one of the world’s leading mask shops.  Photomasks need to be 100% defect free and delivered within tight deadlines to the customer’s exact specifications.  ML&C has the experienced staff, equipment and resources to ensure we meet these goals.”
