Determine Your Drawing Area
The drawing area should be at least ⅓” (10mm) smaller all the way around than the size of the mask substrate.
The substrate has a coating of photoresist spun onto the surface which can cause thicker areas of resist at the edges (known as resist fringing), affecting exposure. Absolutely no critical patterns should be placed here.
We will typically add a mask title of your choice, as well as our own internal patterns out in the area. The less critical features, like barcodes, can also be placed in this area.
